It’s not every day a celebrity visits the school and we were all so excited to welcome Harley, from World of Owls, who has appeared in Harry Potter the Philosophers Stone, Game of Thrones, Robin Hood and many more movies and TV shows. Harley is a large Eurasian Eagle Owl and he came to St.Tierney's along with his handler Mike and some more of his feathered friends, beautiful Barn Owls and an Arctic Owl, as part of P3/4 novel study on The Owl Who Was Afraid of The Dark and P6 and P7 Flight topic work. The pupils were amazed as the owls flew and moved through the hall and fascinated by Mikes fun facts and stories. In fact, Mike was so impressed with the knowledge of the boys and girls that he has promised a free ticket to any pupil who would like to visit the World of Owl Sanctuary in Randalstown.
