P5 have been thinking about Lent on this Ash Wednesday day. We talked about how Jesus spent 40 days in the desert. We wear ashes to remember that Jesus died on the cross for us.
We then decided as part of our penance to ‘go off’ or ‘go on’ something for the next 40 days.
In our class we have a Lenten chain. Each day we will take off a chain and complete the daily task. These tasks are acts of kindness and include saying extra prayers for those in need and those who help us daily.
